By coolant gauge low do you mean the amount of coolant in your vehicle is low? If so it may say that your engine is getting too hot due to slim to no coolant left in the tanks, which causes your engine to heat too high.

The temp gauge problem is nothing to worry about there r two diff thermostat for the trailblazer a low temp and a high temp thermostat. I was curious about it as well i have a 2004 trailblazer does the same thing.

That means your engine is too hot and shut it down. I got that message when I blew the water pump. New water pump installed. TB back in beast mode with no issues at 410,000.
