battery not starting again after letting it run for 40 minutes

Car ran fine all day. I left an inside light on but not sure for how long. When I
returned to my car it was dead. I heard  a whishing sound. Roadside assistant
came out and checked battery said it was fine. Told me to let it run for 30-40
minutes so the alternator could recharge the battery. I did as told but after 45
minutes of letting it run and turning it off. Dead.

Do you have a Battery charger? Or a Jumper box? If u do charge your battery up it should be ok. Good luck!

Thanks for your answers! The battery is not old and the guy checked it said no cracks or leaks. I will take it to auto zone where I bought it and get it tested and see what happens. I was wondering though if the alternator perhaps was causing this? Not sure what that whishing sound is when I turn the ignition off...even though the car doesn't start. Thanks
