Key won't open car

Asked by LowkeyCleo Jan 28, 2018 at 06:18 AM about the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 02 trailblazer LS. No keyless entry. Just
went to get in the car.  And the key turns, but won't
unlock the door. It's like extremely easy to turn..
like something is missing in there. I'm a female ,
don't know much about car.. & It's no other way for
me to get in the car.  And I need to drive my car.
Don't want to call a locksmith cuz they are
expensive... Please HELP!!

sounds like the mechanism came undone inside , you would have to take the panel off to get to it , and unless you can get in through the back or some other door you'll have to get the cops , AAA , a locksmith or good samaritan to wedge the door open and trip the lock with a "coat hanger"

Does the passenger's door have a place for the key? If not then a locksmith will have to "slim jim" the door mechanism to get it open.
