Truck problems

Asked by Cubhater25 Jul 02, 2016 at 06:26 PM about the 2006 Ford F-150 XL

Question type: General

Today, I got in my truck and started driving down
the road. As I went to accelerate, the engine would
not even rev up with the accelerator pressed way
down. Also, the air conditioner would not cool while
this was going on. However, I was able to maintain
a speed of about 25 mph. I stopped the truck, then
gave it gas and again the same thing happened. As
I was driving, I heard a popping sound that sounded
as if it were coming from front left side. I stopped
truck, turned everything off, let it sit for 30 minutes,
then started it and everything worked fine.

Possible plugged catalytic converter in the exhaust system. Just have the exhaust checked at an exhaust shop.
