Door panels have no lock button

Asked by MikiMouse70 Aug 17, 2019 at 12:09 AM about the 2005 Ford F-150 XL

Question type: General

Okay, so maybe this is going to sound weird.
My husband recently purchased a second
hand, 05' F-150 that's door panels have NO
switch for the electric door locks. From the
exterior you can unlock the doors with the
key without an issue, yet as soon as you turn
the ignition on the doors automatically lock.
There is no way to unlock them as long as
the truck is running. As soon as the key is in
the off position, the doors unlock. As the
mock knob is smooth and very short you
can't even put up with your fingers to unlock
the doors. Why is this? Why isn't there a
toggle switch to lock and unlock the doors
from the inside of the vehicle? Does anyone
know?
