2005 F-150. every so many starts i get a screeching grinding noise. otherwise turns over fine. new starter, still does it
Maybe a bad spot in the flywheel
Sounds like broken teeth on the flywheel. Try this. If it begins to make noise when you go to start it, put the shift lever in "D" and push it forward a few feet. This will move the flywheel slightly. If it starts without the noise it's the flywheel.
The transmission does not turn the engine when it's in drive and u push it. Unless it's a manual
Ahhhhh, you're right. Use to driving standards.
