First you should check air filter and replace if necessary, change fuel filter if problem still persists get a fuel pressure test done.

Also add some fuel injector cleaner to gas tank will help clean dirty injectors if that is your problem.

I bet you its the mass airflow sensor. Try unplugging it and starting, if it starts theres ur problem. Dont run it long unplug or it will foul your plugs

Its beats paying for a fuel pump, also replace fuel filter, may have restriction inside. Ofcoarse if it not the mass airflow sensor. My truck shut off while driving, thought fuel pump went out, but could hear if cycling for a few seconds. Turns out it was a 30 sensor... Good luck, 5.4 3v is the.worst engine ford has ever put out.. Im still having issues I can't figure out:/

You are giving it a super high octane shot with the fluid.ok now it is running.but you have to stay in to keep it.let's see you had to spray the carb/you have to stay in the truck to keep it running which is your foot helping tne carb.I wonder what is wrong. Carb carb carb carb carb
