What is wrong with my truck?

Asked by Sandra Oct 13, 2016 at 02:07 AM about the 2004 Ford F-150 Lariat Ext. Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck only starts with a jump, then wont start again. Today yellow/orange
tool light and red brake light on dash came on. I was able to get it back
home a few blocks but it is dead again. I just had the 1 & 2 oxygen senors
replaced, but I just started getting codes for possible clogged cat converter,
something about my brakes and anti-theft device not engaging. Also just
had a tune up. What could be wrong and how would I fix it

You need to see if there are any codes when you have the car read.

Needing a jump sounds like you need a battery. If you have a p0420 or p0430 code then you usually need a catalytic converter. When you get codes pulled always give us the code number like stated above. Peoples definitions for codes varies and it's easier to track down with the number.

Diagnose and repair your Starting/Charging system concerns before trying to address anything else. Erroneous codes abound with a weak battery.
