why does my 03 f150 briefly crank, then cut out, then i hear doors lock, but won't start?

When i turn the key on my '03 F150 supercrew, I hear the engine start to crank briefly,
then it cuts out then I hear the doors trying to lock.  starter is less than 1yr old, battery is
less than 2 months old.

If I am not mistaken as soon as you turn the key to the on position the doors should lock. Could be an ignition cylinder problem or a battery problem.
