fuel pressure regulator leaking under hood

If regulator was leaking majorly, wouldn't I be
putting fuel in car more often?

It would lower the MPG rating, but that's inconsequential to the fact it's leaking fuel and a fire hazard.

So, go and change the regulator before before the car blows up. And I hope you are not close by!
