Battery Light ON... Drains while running

Asked by AlFish Nov 23, 2016 at 06:36 PM about the 2001 Ford F-150 XLT Extended Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A few days ago, battery light came ON... Then pretty dramatic draw on Battery Gauge became evident.
Had Alternator checked... tested bad Voltage regulator which is inside the Alternator.  Changed out alternator and belt... charged drained battery and fired it up... battery lite still ON and truck acts like it is running off the battery alone.   Had NEW alternator tested and it passed.
Still heavy drain on battery when in operation.
