2000 F150 XLT work Truck......won't start....

Went to the store, came out got my truck & truck
wouldn't start. waited about 5-10 minutes truck
started right up drove it home. next day went to
take the grandkids to school came home Parked
my truck. Later in the day went to get back into my
truck to go somewhere,....truck wouldn't start,...
been that way now for 2 weeks.... lights come on
in the truck but it will not start up. Doesn't
crank....nothin. Help!

sounds like your starter or solenoid is on its last leg

Gave my truck a jump,.... let it stay connected to the jumper cables and the other truck for about 15 minutes, my truck started right up so I let it run for about 30 minutes..... turned it off tried to turn it back on..... same thing wouldn't crank over....... so took my battery out & took it up to Autozone..... they checked it out & it was at 50% so they charged it for about 45 minutes.............. .... I picked it up put it right into my truck,.. started right up no problem,.. went down to the gas station left it running & Put gas in my truck drove it home, turned it off, tried to start it right back up......nothing...... wouldn't start again..... .... I am so confused and frustrated. ....HELP!! could it be a bad cell in the battery? It's one of those that you can't pop the cover off to see if there is water in each cell......HELP!! it doesn't act like the starter
Check ur battery cables for tightness and corrosion including the end at the starter. U should be able to take ur battery to ur auto parts place and have it load tested for free to make sure the battery is good. If all cables are goid take the truck to the auto parts and have them check charging system. It's free.
If connections are clean and making good contact, check the voltage in the battery with a multimeter. Should read somewhere around 12.4 volts. If it is lower, the battery is shot. Jump start the car and measure the voltage again with it running. Should read about 14 volts or so if the first reading was 12.4 volts. How old is the battery? If four years old and you live in a cold climate, the amperage in the battery is probably low. You need the voltage plus the amperage to turn the motor over to start. Twelve volts and low amps and no start.
