Question type: Maintenance & Repair

And the guys said it was perfectly fine. Now
when I try to start my truck it won't turn
over. It just does the regular click just luke
when your trucks dies. Iv jumped it and
nothing. Iv got the battery checked( batt
good) . Someone advised me that you could
shorten the fan belt line that runs through
the ac compresser so that it would bypass
the ac compresser . Is this possible? Could
it be the alternator ? Anything or any advice
would help

wow...ac compressor or ac clutch bad!!! tell us more.. is it locked up?the compressor or the ac clutch???? if it is...some cars you can go around / by pass the ac pully...is the ac unit stopping thr belt system from turning?is that the problem or does just need a starter????????

Take the fan belt off and try to start it ... if it still doesn't start than you have eliminated a few problems. An engine should run with no fan belt (Old term because most fans are electric) It wont run long due to the alternator and such but it should start

If it starts then figure out what the problem is and if you need to bypass the AC clutch ,,,, get a piece of rope ( clothes-line size ..geez,,, does anyone use a clothes-line anymore? I guess I'm old) then wrap the line around all the pulleys ( minus the AC clutch of course) .. Mark the end ,, then measure the length to determine the new belts size. Make sure to take the old belt with you because the width (V belt... flat belt etc) is important. Good luck
