It was running started to backfire and it died while
idling and now won't start it just turns over sounds
like it's starving for fuel

do you hear the fuel pump prime the system when you hit the key ? test for proper spark and fuel pressure , make sure injectors are firing , pour a little gas in the throttle and see if it fires up , check fuel pump for good ground before replacing it
