Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Camaro with a 3800 Series II engine and I just got threw replacing the whole coolant system, hoses and all, and
the system is building up too much pressure and so the fluid is spewing out of the cap on the coolant reservoir. My question is
what could be causing the high pressure? I've been told it could be the pump I not sure if that's true or not. Any help is welcome.
Thanks

my best guess would be that the problem lies at the cap being faulty! the system may not be over pressuring, the cap may not be able to hold the correct pressure hence spitting out coolant when it tries to be at correct operating pressure levels.

i would pressure test the system and cap what is the temp getting to? is the fan kicking on?

you have an air blockage somewhere in the lines. Take the cap off when the engine is cold, start it up and let it bubble up. When it stops bubbling. Its done..... Then put cap back on.

What all comonents are you talking about " replaced all components". Sounds like head gaskets or cylinder heads or block are cracked.

I replaced the pump, radiator, hoses, thermostat, coolant reservoir everything on the coolant system

if its the 3800 with a bleeder screw on the thermostat hsg, cut the bottom out of a large soft drink bottle, stick it in your radiator spout and fill to the top then open the bleed screw. this should be higher than any water jacket in your engine and allow for a decent bleeding. then run the car to operating temp with the heater on at max heat and the rad cap on. once at temp switch it off and then momentarily crack open the bleed screw. you will know if there is air if it hisses, keep cracking it until you get a solid stream of coolant.
