If the bolts are broken off what is holding the starter on? Easy outs may be your only option if the stubs of the bolts are a problem.

There is one bolt that runs through the starter. With it still in the house i can't slide the starter back. I've tried getting the tension off I've tried heating it up thinking it would let me turn it with a punch but there's no room

Tighten the trany backup and soak it with PB Blaster and then try to remove the bolt If you can't get the bolt out get out the BFH And hit the starter till you break it's nose
