new front brakes lock up

Asked by GuruX88DH Nov 09, 2018 at 10:42 AM about the 1997 Ford F-150 STD LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've had new rear drum and front disc brakes (ceramic) installed along with new
brake lines, including the flexible rubber lines at the from wheels.....but my front
brakes still grab first thing in the morning and anytime it sits for more than a
couple of hours.  The mechanic rebuilt the calipers and the problem still
persists.  ny suggestions?  Thanks, Frank

I had a similar problem with ceramic brakes on a car. I concluded that they draw moisture and get grabby until they heat up and dry out again. The problem went away after they were fully broken in.
