How much to fix the head gasket parts and labor

It depends. It's possible that you will need to have so head work done. And on a 1997 you should have both sides done. If you have the dealership do it look to spend upwards of$2200.00 A independent garage might change around $1250.00 Shop around.

It all depends who you have do the work. Do not take it to a Ford dealer. They are going to way over charge you. Find a good REPUTABLE mechanic to do the work. Even with a good mechanic prices will vary on the amount of labor and if the heads are cracked or not. I'm not going to sugar coat it, it won't be cheap probably $800- 2000
