How to test crankshaft position sensor

Driving along,flame out,motor stops,won't start, could position sensor be the cause?

check engine light has been on and the reading was lean in 1 and 2 cylinder, misfire in one cylinder, have changed fuel filter, plugs, plug wires, and coil, distributor cap looks good no Burns and skins fuel pressure at valve good and can hear fuel pump primer kick on with key turn

You don't even have to take it off the truck to test it. I suggest find what the values are supposed to be (resistance wise), test it when its stone cold then again once the engine cuts out. If the resistance is higher than specified or the multimeter shows infinite you've found the cause
