f150 engine running really bad all of a sudden

Asked by BluesRocker Nov 19, 2015 at 05:57 PM about the 1996 Ford F-150 XL LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

after changing the fuel filter used the gas in real tank - when using rear tank truck ran rough - so I only used the front tank for a couple of months running fine - last week I found that I had been overfilling my front tank and it filled my rear tank..... since I started to run the gas out f the rear tank now the truck runs really bad on either tank -sputtering, coughing, jerking around, etc.
it used to run fine with just the front tank....thoughts?

It sounds like either watery gas or just plain out bad gas aka dead gas try using what he said and if that does not help the matter u will need to drop the tank and clean it out also if it is bad gas u r going to want to change the spark plugs and flush out the fuel system
