I have a 1996 f-150 xlt has the 5.0 with the aod tranny in it. and the tanny is bad, it has 218,000 on both motor and tranny. I dont know much about cars and oickuos but would a 94 f-150 regualr cab fit? It also has a 5.0
No, two different operating systems, the 94 is Ford OBD 1 and the 96 is Ford OBD 2.
My 96 says it has the aod
And it is OBD2 computer controlled, not OBD1 like the 94 would be.
Don't know if there was any truth in this but one of the off road guys aroun nd here said that there was a company that was make retro wiring harnesses to put older automatic trannies in newer rigs, never researched it.
ok, my pickup has been outta comission for about 3 months now so I just reakky wanna get it fixed.
You might find a good used one in a wrecking yard, it might even have a parts warranty, so if it is bad at least the only thing you will be out is the labor to R&R the tranny.
