Repeat after me, please! FUEL, FUEL, FUEL!!! In these trucks you cannot leave fuel in the tanks for extended periods of time and expect them to run satisfactorily afterwards. If it is necessary to put them up for long periods of time, then try running most of the fuel out of both tanks, adding a quality fuel additive to both tanks, run the engine for a while and switching back and forth to both tanks. As for now, I would try to drain both tanks, replace the frame fuel filter, add a good fuel additive to both tanks, top them off, take it out on the Highway and let her rip and snort for awhile until it all clears up!

BTW, I have two of these old trucks (1987 & 1994), both in excellent condition, and the fuel system is the only thing I have ever had issues with.
