Gearing

Asked by Vegas95 Apr 22, 2019 at 02:08 AM about the 1995 Ford F-150 XLT LB

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 95 f150 302 with a 5 speed and I wanna be able to
cruise at 80 in 5th without being at such a high rpm but I
dont know what gearing I would need and I was wondering
also could the diff from 95 302 mustang be a direct fit?

What gearing do you have now? Pick a gear number that is a little smaller than you have now. Without knowing the rpm the engine turns at 80 now and the gear ration you have I cannot make a specific recommendation.

You probably have a 411 rear end and the only other choice I remember is a 373 but if you use that one you really will have to use low gear to take off.
