1995 F-150 no spark good crank.

Asked by Duckhead Feb 17, 2016 at 08:46 PM about the 1995 Ford F-150 Eddie Bauer LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced all parts supporting ignition. Coil, distributor, plugs, plug wires,
ignition module, and ECM, battery, starter.  Could it be bad resistor related
to fuse box under hood on left fender?  Parts replacement was completed
after checks of old part.  Found bad coil and suspected PIP sensor within
distributor.  Replaced ignition switch started once, then quit.  This devil
infested unit sat for a week and then started again drove 5 miles getting
back home shut off.  Next time (three days later) cranked, but no spark.
Started once more and then failed and spark was gone to never returned
so far even after all new parts had been installed.  Fuel pump is good but
has nothing to do with spark or timing until truck runs, then fuel supply
controls timing, this from some reading I have done.  Any assistance
anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Oh, I almost
forgot this is on a 4.9L inline six cylinder motor.  No pictures I'm afraid this
thing will infect my camera!

This sounds like an ignition module to me - maybe a bad connection at the module or in the harness. I have actually had modules fail right out of the box and its frustrating. you spend hours and hours trying to figure it out only to find a new part has failed - hope this helps

Check to make sure u have a good ground to body, check the voltage to the distributor by the module, if everything checks out good, replace module
