Tapping sound

Asked by GuruWQWMY May 13, 2018 at 03:19 PM about the 1994 Ford F-150 XLT LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed oil in 1994 f150 4.9 stright six with
manual transmission.  Now there is a loud tapping
sound and it's getting worse.  I use 10w 30 high
millage,  and a standard stp oil filter. The noise is
coming from the top of engine. What could it be?

I checked the oil is full I feel like it's not getting oil to the top of the motor I was told it could be either the oil pump the filter or maybe the pressure sensor any other suggestions

Surf the net on how to check the oil pressure. The gauge is about 20 bucks.
