Question type: Maintenance & Repair

94 F-150. (automatic trans) Start engine, put foot on brake, brakes are applied and will not release, pedal stays down. The only way the brakes release are to pull up the pedal with your foot. I have tried a few things like replacing master cylinder and problem remains. I would like to test to see if the ABS module is the problem, and was wondering if simply pulling the fuse is enough to disable it for a test run. I understand the module has been a common problem on this model.  I am willing to replace the ABS module ($80) if I know it is the problem.  So looking for ways to disable it temporarily. Bypassing it looks like alot of time and work. Any thoughts??? thank you !!!

I tried pulling the fuses (two of them) for ABS. The result is: it will not allow you to put the pickup into gear (auto transmisision) and there was no change in the behavior of the brake pedal. At this point bleeding the brakes lines has the brake pedal returning to normal behavior, but it is gradual.
