I need to replace the transmission cooler lines in my 1994 F-150 4.9L 2WD. How much line do I need?

what are you changing them with/too...are they going to be flaired..npt...I've always just bought 3/8 (?) steel line/alum/braded hose. You can bend it by hand if you don't need to make any sharp bends but you'll need a cheap tubing bender for tighter bends. Get some rubber trans cooler hose for the section that needs to flex and some hose clamps, double clamped. Put a small flare or rough up the line where the hose gets clamped so it doesnt slip off and use 2 hose clamps per connection turned 180o apart.

eye ball it to get an idea.. then buy 2 feet more.....you can buy it in a roll..

Eyeball it and purchase a few feet extra. Here's why. The connection at the radiator will probably require a sharp bend. It's almost impossible to make the sharp bend and leave enough length to place the flare nut on then flare the tube to the exact length. You are going to have to bend the pipe to the angle then slip the nut on then cut to size to flare.

he can use some good rubber and clamps with the steel/alun......he doesnt have to pass nhra 10.0 tech..

I would agree with the rubber part. Just make sure the hose is rated for hydraulic oil. Also, if the fitting is removed from the radiator proper, just use teflon tape when putting it back on. I've seen more than one person bust a plastic radiator in the belief the strength of a six hundred pound gorilla is required to tighten the fitting.
