93 f150 automatic transmission

Asked by AbelHowell Oct 17, 2016 at 10:32 PM about the 1993 Ford F-150 XLT Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 93 f150 automatic transmission and
when it changes from 1st to 2nd it makes
this weird sound like the gears are burned
down and its not a smooth shift from 1st to
2nd.  Its not catching right. Also I Dont think
it has the right amount of HP.  If it is than
what can I do to boost it. (Cheap)

"right amount of HP" sounds like the tranny is slipping. Time to bring it to a mechanic. Has the fluid ever been changed along with the filter? Check the level, If OK it's shoptime.
