I have a 92 f150, how do i fix the idol?

Asked by Machine11 May 09, 2016 at 01:04 PM about the 1992 Ford F-150 STD 4WD LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a Ford f 150 with a 302, it has a high idol that I can't find the source to.  I changed the Idol sensor and am about to start throwing money in it.  Can anyone tell me what the usual problems are with this kind of vehicle.  Also, the truck was converted to a manual 5 speed, I was told, Fuel injected.

Is the vehicle equipped with an Idle Air Control Valve? If so, remove - clean - and reinstall. Also, a vacuum leak can cause a high idle. Those are the two easiest to check first.
