I've got a 1991 f-150 I have completely striped motor, transmission both under the hood and behind the dash I've went over gnd and pos but for some reason all dash lights and cluster lights come on?

I put motor and transmission all wiring in an older truck 1986 key doesn't have to be on
just battery plugged up and all dash lights come on key chime works when left in it will
chime when took out it don't key won't start it I have to run wire from solinode and touch it
to fuse in fuse box.....? Help...??

very very confused and written in a difficult way to understand. you describe the lightswitch is simply pulled out.............You describe an ignition switch not working, but havent said whether neutral switch is from one or the other..... you best get schematics for both and find what you did, as well as what their differences are, or can be different..........................The start enable circuit to the starter relay comes from neutral safety/clutch. you are by passing. You cannot show it to us and you cant be sure which year what is and what schematic to look at for which........... public libraries get ford manuals when they are aged donated to them and they have motor, chilton, and haynes or clymer. as well as automotive databases.

An 86 and a 91 are different trucks. I doubt it's gonna be plug and play.

Power distribution is the area of the schematics to compare, the harness you use , would need that, or have adaptations made for a beginning.
