Im 16 years old and im wanting a f150 i found this 4.9l and im not sure about it should i continue with buying it ??

You could splurge on a Carfax or Autocheck report, if the odometer went over 99,999 miles the report would say mileage is "no longer accurate," or check the title if the owner has it, it'll at least say how many miles were on it when he/she bought it.

Is the owner the original purchaser? Ask. 133K miles are not a lot of miles if the truck has been well maintained. My 99 has over 300K on the original motor. However, I am a nut case when it comes to things like oil changes and repairs. If I did not know the owner I would be more worried with the tranny. Lack of maintenance there can be catastrophic.

This truck is being sold by a dealer and so the bad thing is i dont know the owner, the trucks description is "this truck reads 33k miles but the odometer is only 5 digits so there is no way of knowing the true miles". That is straight from the dealers words and ive also heard very good things about the 4.9l straight six about how it being very realiable and very torque heavy and strong.

I wouldn't buy it from a dealer. they only gave a few hundred trade in. Without correct miles and maint. records your taking a chance. That old of a truck alot of the computer controled parts are going to be close to wearing out and are very difficult to (and exspensive) to fix and/or replace. Your 16 you have time to find another newer truck. To me I'd give no more than 1500.

Yeah, it's overpriced. And that mileage description is deceitful, I would hazard the dealer knew exactly how many miles the truck had when they bought it, now they're using "used car dealer double-speak" to avoid stating it's actual miles. It could be 133K (which still isn't too bad) or it could easily be 233K. If they could 100% PROVE it had only 33K miles (highly doubtful) then it might be worth 3K. You're young and it seems like they are trying to take advantage of you. Shop around and buy from an original owner, you'll find much better deals.

My in law has been in the dealership business for four decades. They took the car in trade. Ask who they got it from and give them a call. No BS about we can't tell you that. Dealerships will usually wholesale cars to use car losts if they are three years old. The one you are looking at is 25 years old and a pristine antique it is not. They probably gave two hundred bucks for it and the poor purchaser of the new car probably paid near sticker. Meaning they have Zero-Goose egg-nada in investment. Sorry, but if you are sixteen years old all the salesman sees is dollar signs. Bring dad or mom along and offer them five hundred bucks. When they start to dicker, get up and leave.
