Alternator sparking

Just replaced my alternator. I am trying to hook up the battery. I have major
sparking and i am afraid i will start a fife in my 2003 Chev Ventura Van. do you
have any ideas>

are the terminals correct ? check your work or find a good mechanic , Now that you're been screwing up the electrical system there may be other problems ,
