Solenoid? Is it making a click click click. Or just a single click. Had that similar discription happen on my work truck. Solenoid was corroded and rusty. Worth a try

I am having the same problem with my 2001 Sport Trac. I will drive it, park, come back about 15 minutes later and key fob won't even unlock my doors. Get in using key and try to start and nothing; no click or turning over. Check engine and check gauge lights come on. However, windows, fan and radio will all work. If I let it sit for about 20 minutes, it will start. I know when it is ready as check lights will go off. This happened this Sping when it was not hot at all and then twice in the last 2 days when it has been very warm. This has now happened 3 times in the past 2 months. I see a lot of answers on other sites but they are for when engine does crank, but doesn't start. Mine doesn't even crank over. Any ideas? Thank you.
