Disconnect the Anti Theft?

I bought my 2003 Chevy Malibu in Oct. 2012 used. The anti-theft light was
on all the time and the dealer said to not worry about it.Then in June of
this year my car wouldn't start. I paid to have it towed, and the shop said
all they had to do was reset the Anti Theft and it started. They gave me the
instructions on how to reset the Anti Theft, which I'm thankful for, as since
June of this year I'v had to reset it 4 times which 3 of those times were this
month alone......would like help with this situation.

Lesson learned - NEVER trust what a used car dealer says. I couldn't tell you what the problem with your anti-theft is, may be a bad passlock sensor in the ignition, or a bad module, non-existent master key, etc., but you'll always have trouble with it with stop-gap bypassing measures. Unfortunately it can cost hundreds to properly fix the passlock system, whether that's worth it to you I can't say.
