2000 v10 for $4500

Asked by GuruHC3G Apr 20, 2017 at 08:51 AM about the 2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty XL 4WD Extended Cab SB

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

So this will be my first F-series truck as I have been
an avid Toyota fan since I begin driving but now I'm
getting into a business where I need more tow
capacity and have come across a deal at least in
my mind that is a 2000 F250 extended cab 170000
miles and they want 4500 for it. I have not test
drove it or giving it a visual Rundown but I don't
want to get into something that is a gas guzzler
and mechanics nightmare. I'm pretty handy and
have been working on Toyotas Nissan's and had a
71 Bronco for five years obviously that was a piece
of cake.

If you are used to little trucks you will be shocked at the mileage of a V10. Unless you are towing north of 8,000 pounds I would go with an F150 with the tow package and the 5.4 V8. You can get 17 plus on the highway and in the low teens towing. I can get 11 or so towing a 35', triple axle travel trailer - well over the official weight limits.
