Transfer case will not engage

The hogs are locking the axle is spinning but the transfer case is not engaging
when you turn switch from 12 drive to four-wheel-drive there is no light on the
dash and no clicking on the transfer case

We had this problem with a 2005 F150. The two problems we had, and I am not certain if it would be the same setup, the switching solenoid was bad and one of the vacuum hoses was off. If you have a buddy that can help, it would make life a lot easier. I hope this helps.
