thermastat replacement.

Asked by Tyler Jan 12, 2017 at 02:37 PM about the 2005 Audi A4 1.8T quattro Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is it possible to remove and replace my thermastat
without having to takemy radiater out? I have a
2005 audi a4 quattro 1.8t and ive only seen videos
of people working from on top and they take the
radiator out to make it easier to reach the
thermostat. If it can be done from underneath then
my life would be alot easier.

The thermostat on this car is under the intake manifold & almost behind the alternator. Make sure you replace the J-Plug as well. You can replace it with the manifold on but it will make your world so much better removing the intake manifold for this repair. This is for the 1.8T engine
