2002 f250

Asked by Jon Jan 16, 2018 at 09:49 AM about the 2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT 4WD Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can start my 2002 f250 in park but can't shift out
of park. Have to start in nuetral to be able to shift.
What is the cause ( nuetral safety switch)? If so
where is it located?

Did you put your foot on the brake pedal so as to activate the park/lock solenoid ? I'd check out the park/solenoid circuit

I do depress the brake pedal and try but it won't shift out. How else can I check that circuit?
