I wrecked my 06 e500 front end and it starts up
fine but won't go forward or backward..What could
this be a sensor

Any tranny fluid on the ground? If so, do not try anything with the transmission until it is checked out....

it may be electrical or mechanical. Must be diagnosed by a pro.
