In my opinion it's not so much the brand it's changing them out when they need done. I've used Myle, Fram, and others never had any issues probably due to the fact I just replaced them on a regular basis. By the way many of the different named filters are made by the same company, just repackaged. Good Luck!
Use a quality filter. Fram is OK but never use an orange one.
