My e350 does not switch to third gear and it revs up when it gets to 40mph... What could be wrong?

Asked by Wren Andres May 05, 2012 at 06:24 PM about the 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E 350 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car was perfectly fine and one day I was leaving the office and I felt my car not changing gears. I couldn't go
above 40 mph without the car making the revving sounds so I went really slow until I reached my destination. What
could be wrong with my vehicle. I'm at 99k miles and I got an oil change about 7k miles ago.
