04 trailblazer low beam headlights won’t workwork.

Asked by Derail1963 Aug 09, 2018 at 06:58 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Running lights work and high beams work when I change the headlight switch
position. Checked fuses, swapped hdm relays 45 & 46, replaced dimmer and
headlight switch. Also replaced one of the bulbs, nothing worked. Anybody
have any other ideas?

Is there voltage at the pigtail that goes into the bulbs when low beams are activated? If so, I'd go back to that HDM relay, try a new one, or try installing and re-installing several times to kind of clean the contacts on the fuse block and relay. I did that on my 1st TB, and it started working again, but didn't last long. FYI, there is a recall on this, dealer can fix for free, BUT not sure if there is a permanent fix yet. Last I checked, they were just replacing the HDM.
