What could be wrong

My 2004 chevy trailblazer will not shift into 2nd
gear unless I let off of the gas and even then it
shifts hard. Once it goes into 2nd gear after that I
have no issues. What could I do to fix this??

Worth a shot to check your throttle position sensor, which was my problem on my 06, for the exact problem. Bad thing, it's part of the throttle body, need to replace the whole throttle body.
