Battery drain

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Like it state above, I have a 99 c280. I have brought this to two deferant
mechanics because the battery(new) keeps dying. First mech said it was
the amp, so it was unhooked, little bit later the battery died, brought it to
a differant mechanic and saw that the trunk light was staying on. So that
was takin out. Well the bAtter is still dying.
Is this car known for this problem? Does anyone have suggestions as to
what could. Be the problem? Any imput would be greatly appreciative.
Thanks guys!

Is the alternator putting out enough power for your system? Use a multimeter to check your output. You might need to get a higher amp alternator. I would put the battery on a charger and see if will hold a charge out of the car. Then you know it isn't that.

Well the amp isn't even pluged in anymore, so wouldn't you think it will be able to keep up. I mean the batter is going dead over night. I guess I'm not sure I'll check the alternator though

I'm thinking you have a bad battery then. If you charge it up and let it set all night and it won't start the car then you know it the battery. Just be sure to use a battery charger to get a full charge.

I have a 2002 C240 Mercedes Benz and have the same issue, I have been searching all over the internet for answers and still haven't figured it out as of yet, and to answer your question about these vehicles having this issue, YES! The C class has a battery drain issue, at least that's what I have found out on the internet. Lol!
