Why is my suburban not starting ?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car won’t start. I have an 04 Suburban, it
cranks over but doesn’t start. Everything
works fine. I have checked and replaced
multiple things. After checking every fuse
inside and out, taking each one out
individually and testing it, I was able to start to
the car for probably 5 minutes before it stalled
again. After it started another 4-5 times no
problem, but only lasted 10 seconds at most.
What could it be ?!

When it starts do u hear the fuel pump? U might have to take the fuel cap off and have someone put their ear close to the filler neck to hear a whirring sound or a humming sound. If u hear that I would check the fuel pump relay.

I checked the following: Fuel pump, fuel relay, fuel filter, fuel injectors, all fuses (tested and cleaned), battery, alternator, bcm, pcm, ignition cylinder, ignition harness, spark plugs, security system wires, air filter, etc... I attempted to start with starter fluid, didn’t start. After pulling all fuses, testing and cleaning, under hood and inside, it started for 5-6 minutes. Has check engine light on, plugged in OBD scanner, no new codes found. Security light is also on (not flashing, solid) .... my next check is going to be the crankshaft position sensor then cam sensor. Only other things I can think of.

Check the oil, there is a low oil level sensor around the oil pan, but u should get a low oil warning. If u r getting spark then check the cam sensor. Cause the cam sensor tells the computer where #1 is. If the computer cant find #1 it may run rough or not at all.

Oil level is good, maintenance has been done to date. Crank and cam sensor I will be doing tomorrow. If those don’t fix the problem, I’m stumped.

U may try unplugging the mass air flow sensor, see if it starts then.
