Need help identifying part

Asked by Thadream101 Oct 15, 2016 at 06:21 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Malibu LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently a part (sensor?) of some sort broke on
top of my engine area causing check gas cap
warning to come on. I glued it on temporary but it's
causing the gas pedal to stick now.  Can anyone
help me identify the part so I can order it online?

I have a picture, but can't figure how to upload it. It's on the right side when you look at the motor. It has a green cap on it. Hard to miss. http://s1119.photobucket.com/user/acevans79/m edia/COOLANTTEMP2.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1
