How do I repair my pickup?

Asked by Scott Apr 10, 2020 at 07:40 AM about the 2004 Chevrolet Colorado ZQ8 LS Base Crew Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Fluctuates rpm going cruise speed (600-1000 rpm), hard
starts, 4 minutes to idle down, 8 minutes to move temp
needle, stalls randomly at idle. Cleaned MAF sensor and
throttle body, replaced transmission (used) and fuel pump.
Scanner detects multiple misfire cylinder 3 and coolant
temperature sensor.  142000 miles.  What should I
check/replace?

Was the coolant temp sensor code P0128? If so, most common cause is a stuck open or sitcky termostat. That would cause the slow warm up. Also, check the fuel trim numbers.

I don't have access to a scanner at this point. I'm picking up a thermostat today and I'll let you know how it works. Thank you for your time.
