Timing chain issues

Asked by Sep 13, 2017 at 12:11 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My oil filter and oil plug had a lot of metal shavings
I thought it could be my timing chain but as I dug in
there I noticed a grinding indentation mark on the
timing guide rail along with broken pieces of
plastic and metal can i get away with just replacing
the guide rail or is there a bigger problem here?
