2004 chevy cavalier died

no noise when died try to start you can hear starter but engine not turning over whats
wrong

Not enough power in the battery or poor battery connections. Check the battery volts. It should be around 12.5 volts with the engine off and 14-14.5 volts with the engine running.

Could be a bad battery, I was taught that 6 volts is needed to start the motor, while another 6.5 volts for alternative electronics (such as windshield wipers) so really, it should be around 12.5 when the engine is off, but 14.5 volts would be best.
