2005 Trail Blazer Back up lights

I noticed that when I put my Chevy Trail Blazer in reverse the lighted segment on the dash
that shows the transmission is in reverse does not light up. It does light up in all others
positions. Also when it is in reverse neither of my back up lights are working. I thought
they might be related.

I have a 2003 trailblazer LTZ with the bose system. I'm installing a new deck, and can't seem to figure out which wires to tie into for my speakers. Can you help me??
